A PoE (Power over Ethernet) IP camera gets its power and sends its video over the same RJ45 cable. It plugs into a PoE NVR or a PoE switch, with no power socket needed near the camera. Smart Dual Light and Smart Hybrid Light models switch to colour at night when they detect motion, and those with a microphone record sound too.
