Which cable for your printer?
Most printers connect to the computer with a USB 2.0 Type A to Type B cable: the flat plug on the PC side, the square plug on the printer side. It is rarely included with the printer.
Choosing the length
- 1.5 m: printer next to the computer.
- 3 to 5 m: printer on another desk or in a corner of the office.
- 10 m: shared printer in another room. Beyond 5 m, a good-quality cable avoids dropouts.
